[Development Case] Development of a technology demo focused on remote monitoring for the elderly.

Challenging the creation of "watching over" solutions for the social issue of elderly isolation!

We would like to introduce a case of technical demo development aimed at clearly presenting the scope of our "Design Engineering" services and the design-to-development process. Focusing on the risk of heatstroke for elderly individuals living alone, we developed a technical demo with the concept of "monitoring" by understanding changes in the environment, rather than through video surveillance, while considering privacy protection and respect for personal life. In the upstream design phase, we created personas and scenarios based on an elderly person living alone and their son living separately, and established requirements for a simple demonstration. [Case Overview] ■ Using a Raspberry Pi and LCD display as a management monitor inside the home, we can measure the indoor temperature, humidity, and the surface body temperature of individuals, and store the measurement data on a server. ■ Assuming that the sensors detect a person inside the home at risk of heatstroke, we can experience alerts sent to a smartphone when the temperature exceeds a user-defined threshold, as well as emergency contacts and remote air conditioning control from the smartphone. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Silhouette Monitoring Sensor 'WOS-321'

Monitor movements with silhouette videos to reduce the burden on caregiving staff! It also records the situation before and after notifications.

The silhouette monitoring sensor "WOS-321" distinguishes the movements of the elderly through silhouette videos, addressing issues such as wandering and falls from beds while considering privacy. By differentiating a series of actions from getting up into stages such as "getting up," "overstepping," and "leaving the bed," it detects actions just before injuries occur, preventing caregiving accidents. Additionally, it allows for monitoring tailored to the elderly's condition with just one unit, eliminating the need for multiple sensors. This means it can be used continuously without changing sensors, even as elderly individuals change or their caregiving conditions evolve. 【Features】 ■ Understand the situation before rushing to the room ■ Helps in prioritizing judgments ■ Records detection content and silhouette videos ■ Easy to install and move, causing no unnecessary stress *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
